• Porto Sul Social Observatory - located at the headquarters of CIC (cocoa intelligence center) at UESC

Contact as: Felipe Humberto (e-mail: felipehumberto@gmail.com). Aims to actively search for and systematize specialized socio-environmental data and information in the area of ​​influence of the “Porto Sul” project. Vacancies: 04.

 

• CENAP (National Center for Research and Conservation of Carnivorous Mammals)

1. Aims to screen images from camera traps of monitoring projects, which need to be processed (identified) on the Wildlife Insights platform. Vacancies: 03;

2. Curation of data already processed on the Wildlife Insights platform (e.g., review of identifications). Vacancies: 01; 

3. Curation of data from the National Biodiversity Monitoring Program - Monitora Program, (e.g., development of codes in R to locate and correct errors in the spreadsheet as well as other demands). Vacancies: 01.

• Nautilus Institute – Budiões Project

Opportunity for a management internship at the Nautilus Institute, within the Budiões Project. The internship can be carried out remotely or in person, in Porto Seguro (at the Institute's headquarters). Preferably, for students who have experience and interest in the marine area. The general objectives of the five possible vacancies are:

1. Organization and analysis of previous fishing monitoring data, with approximately one year of data collection. Data is currently in a raw spreadsheet, containing various information such as type and quantity of fish, fishing area, type of fishing gear. Vacancies: 01;

2. Work in the Citizen Science area of ​​the Budiões Project, with the objective of processing the information received and generating a technical report with it, including a heat map with the record of Budiões. Vacancies: 01;

3. Work in the Environmental Education area, with the objective of collaborating in the collection of information for three materials. The student will be responsible for carrying out a collection of technical information, to compose a booklet on fish and conscious consumption (target audience: fishermen, fishmongers and restaurants that buy fish), a booklet on good conduct for tourism in the marine reef environment (target audience: tourists, tour guides and companies in the tourism sector) and a material aimed at Community-Based Tourism (CBT). 4. Collaborate in the internal administrative area of ​​the Institute, participating in compliance demands. Vacancies: 01.

• Golden Lion Tamarin Association (AMLD)

One of the components of AMLD's strategic planning, which aims to conserve the golden lion tamarin and the Atlantic Forest of the São João River Basin (Baixada Fluminense), is the engagement of rural landowners in more sustainable agricultural practices. Currently, the Environmental Extension team works mainly to help family farmers implement successional agroforestry systems on their land. In this sense, the vacancies offered for the conservation management internship are:

1. Develop a model for sustainable livestock farming activities to be carried out by the AMLD Environmental Extension team. Vacancies: 01;

2. Prepare a report that aims to answer the following question: How can organic cocoa, grown in a region that is not traditional for this crop, be profitable for family farmers? Vacancies: 01.
